All That Jazz
HARMONY — The Harmony Business Association will host Harmony Jazz Fest 2015 from Aug. 28 to 30.
Festivities Aug. 28 will include a performance by The David Bruce Smith Trio + One at 7:30 p.m. at Bottlebrush: A Gallery for the Arts, 539 Main St. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students. Later, there will be Impromptu Jazz after Nine at the Harmony Inn, 230 Mercer St.
Activities Aug. 29 will begin with Harmony’s music traveler Ronni Weiss performing at 1 p.m. at the Wunderbar, 253 Mercer St.
At 3 p.m. Aug. 29, guests can be part of a music celebration in honor of 85-year-old Pittsburgh jazz legend Harold Betters. All trombone players are invited to gather for a jazz jam and parade to play tribute to Betters. Final songs will be “Amazing Grace” and “What a Wonderful World.”
Later that evening, the Harold Betters Quartet will perform in concert at 7 p.m. at the Harmony Opera House on Mercer Street. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students.
On Aug. 30, there will be a Sunday Jazz Brunch in the outside garden of the vintage Stohr Haus Bakery on the village Main Square from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Reservations may be made by calling 724-473-0306.
The close out event for the festival will be regional jazz band Catro on the patio at the Harmony Inn from 4 to 7 p.m.
