Nearly 600 customers of West Penn Power Co. in the area of Morton Avenue have been without electricity since about 1:30 p.m.
The company’s website says service will be restored by 4 p.m.
A company spokesman said the outage occurred when a wooden support beam at the top of a pole broke.
The spokesman said the outage initially affected about 2,000 customers.
