Police say couple was impaired

Child transfer turned violent

WASHINGTON TWP — A woman and her boyfriend were both impaired by drugs when a child-custody exchange with her former husband turned violent, authorities said.

A handgun was brandished and one of the men was injured during the altercation last month at the North Washington rodeo grounds in Washington Township.

State police on Thursday filed criminal cases against Krystal M. Dollman, 27, and her boyfriend, Alan M. Palmer, 27, both of Parker; and Aaron A. Dollman, 28, of Clay Township.

Preliminary hearings for the defendants are set for October.

Police said Krystal Dollman about 8:30 p.m. July 26 drove with Palmer and his two children to the rodeo grounds to pick up her two children from her husband, who also drove there.

The Dollmans are the parents of a 4-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son.

But a dispute between the former couple erupted, according to court documents, and soon they were grabbing at each other. Palmer joined in and allegedly punched Aaron Dollman in the head.

Police said Aaron Dollman, who suffered a one-inch cut near his eye in the fracas, managed to get away and went to his pickup truck.

When he pulled out a gun, documents said, his wife and Palmer retreated to their vehicle and fled, this time with Palmer driving.

Trooper Robert Downs, the investigating officer, said Aaron Dollman has a permit to carry the gun.

Following the altercation, Aaron Dollman drove to the police barracks in Butler Township to file a complaint. While he was there, his wife and Palmer both showed up to file their own complaint.

Downs said that Krystal Dollman’s mother drove them to the station.

In speaking with Krystal Dollman and Palmer, the investigating trooper suspected both were on drugs, documents said.

The couple was arrested for suspicion of drugged driving — Krystal Dollman for driving to the rodeo grounds and Palmer for driving from the grounds — and taken to the Kittanning barracks to undergo an examination by a court-certified drug recognition expert.

Both were subsequently taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township for a blood test. Toxicology reports later showed Krystal Dollman and Palmer had “numerous different drugs” in their systems, Downs said.

Krystal Dollman and Palmer are both charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, child endangerment, simple assault, harassment and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Police also cited Krystal Dollman for driving without a license and Palmer for driving with a suspended license. Aaron Dollman is charged with simple assault and harassment.

All three defendants face preliminary hearings Oct. 20 at the office of District Judge Lewis Stoughton in Chicora.

Court records, meanwhile, showed that Aaron Dollman on Aug. 4 was granted a protection from abuse order against his wife. The PFA is in effect until Feb. 4, 2017.
