Mark Steven Myers

Mark Steven Myers, 56, of Chicora passed away Sunday at home of natural causes.

He was born July 5, 1959, in Butler to Thomas A. Myers and G. Maxine (Scott) Myers.

Mark was a 1978 graduate of Butler High School. He worked as a crane man in the hot mill at AK Steel for 27 years.

Mark was a member of the Herman Volunteer Fire Company for 25 years from 1975 to 2001 and served as fire chief from 1990 to 1992.

Mark is survived by two daughters, Maggie Myers and Monica Myers, both of Butler; his parents; two brothers, Douglas S. Myers and his wife, Kathy, of Hampstead, N.C., and T. Jeffrey Myers and his spouse, Thomas Sullivan, of Washington, D.C.; one sister, Nancy R. McMillen and her husband, Craig, of North Washington; and five nieces and one nephew.

MYERS — Friends of Mark Steven Myers, who died Sunday, July 12, 2015, will be received 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tim Goodman, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Private burial will take place at Gruenwald Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Herman Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 87, Herman, PA 16039.
