Beryl A. Gaines
Beryl A. Gaines of Sarver passed away peacefully Sunday at Saxony Health Care in Saxonburg after a short illness.
She came to Indianola, Pa., from Bedford, England, as a war bride, having met and married James P. Gaines, a corporal in the U.S. Army stationed in Bedford during World War II.
Beryl was a homemaker for 69 years, living 58 of them in Sarver. She belonged to the Saxonburg Women's Club and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, bingo, reading, loving her dogs and flowers and traveling in her motor home.
Her husband, James “Jim” Gaines preceded her in death Feb. 1, 1990.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Waddingham, Judith “Judy” Miller and Mary Cooper, and her sons, James “Jim” Gaines and Robert “Bob” Gaines. Beryl has 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was “our English Mum” and was loved by all who knew her.
GAINES — Private funeral services will be conducted for the family of Beryl A. Gaines, who died Sunday, July 12, 2015.
