Man welding truck causes fire that damages carport
WEST LIBERTY — A carport caught on fire this afternoon as a man was welding his pick up truck there.
The fire at 165 Church Road was reported at 1:49 p.m.
Eric Neely was welding when a fire started, and it spread to the carport. He was the only one there, and was not injured.
The carport, which has wooden posts and a metal roof, is at the site where a mobile home burned down in February. The remains of that trailer are to be removed.
