Couple accused of burglary, theft
CRANBERRY TWP — A Butler husband and wife are accused of breaking into her mother’s house and storage shed Saturday afternoon and stealing lawn and garden power tools.
Cranberry Township police arrested Ryan M. Napier 38, and Danielle L. Napier, 31, who allegedly took the items valued at about $1,000 from the home on Lincolnshire Drive.
Police said neighbors reported seeing the couple between 1 and 2 p.m. at the home loading items into a vehicle before leaving. The neighbors later told the homeowner after she returned to the house.
It didn’t take long for investigators to track down the suspects. Police also found the stolen property at a home in Center Township.
Ryan Napier allegedly admitted that he and his wife took the items. He said they intended to sell the property “at a swap meet,” according to court documents.
A police affidavit noted that neither Ryan Napier nor Danielle Napier had permission to enter the home and “both are known to abuse heroin.”
District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned both defendants on charges of burglary, conspiracy, trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.
Following arraignment, each was placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail, They face preliminary hearings at 10 a.m. Friday at the office of District Judge Dave Kovach in Cranberry Township.
