Sylvia J. Wigton
Sylvia J. Wigton, a lifelong resident of Butler, passed away Tuesday.
She was born June 16, the daughter of Vincent and Antonia Nanni DeMatteis.
She is survived by her son, David Wigton and his wife, Dr. Jeanine Wigton, of Butler; and her three granddaughters, Rachael, Rennae and Rochelle Wigton, who lovingly called her Nonna.
Sylvia's daughter, Luanne, also survives. In addition, Sylvia is survived by her three sisters, Eleanor Lasky of Butler, Angela DeMatteis of Butler and Joan Jannetti and her husband, Harry, of New Castle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean L. Wigton; five sisters, Anne D. Krankota, Clara DeMatteis, Elisa Thomas, Violet DeMatteis and Anita Denny; and two brothers, Michael Angelo DeMatteis and Domenic DeMatteis.
Sylvia was a registered nurse and a graduate of the Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed at Butler Memorial Hospital, and she retired from VA Butler Healthcare.
Sylvia was a member of the Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where she received all sacraments and where she married her husband, Dean.

Wigton, who died Tuesday, July 7, 2015.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler.
