Wesley Shipley, the new Mars School District superintendent, chats with Roberta Rowan and her son, Richie, 9, who will enter the third grade at Mars Elementary School this year. The pair attended the superintendent meet-and-greet Thursday morning in the high school auditorium lobby. The event allowed community members to meet Shipley and have a short discussion with him. Another meet-and-greet will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 17 in the auditorium lobby.
