BlueSox end season with defeat
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Butler BlueSox ended the 2015 Prospect League baseball season with a 5-3 road loss to the Champion City Kings Thursday night.
Butler was up 3-1 before three pitchers combined to give up four runs to the Kings over the last three innings.
Seneca Valley graduate Connor Coward started for the Sox and allowed three runs (one earned) in six innings and received a no-decision.
Reliever Jon Laird took the loss, giving up one run in 1 1/3 innings. David Stover worked the final 2/3 inning and allowed one run.
Mitch Machi had three hits for the Sox, including a triple and drove in two runs.
Butler finishes the season with an overall record of 33-27, 20-13 in the second half.
