Juggler shows off at farm show

Comedic juggler Evan Young will perform Aug. 13 to 15 at the free stage at the Butler Farm Show.

CONNOQUENESSING TWP — The 67th annual Butler Farm Show running Monday through Aug. 15 at the farm show grounds, Route 68, will have performances by comedy juggler Evan Young.

He began entertaining crowds on the streets of Colorado about five years ago.

Since then he has traveled extensively and trained with highly regarded circus instructors.

Young has performed at First Night Columbia, Twilight Festival and Arts in the Park in Columbia, Mo., at Artscape and the Inner Harbor Street program in Baltimore, and at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Mass.

He has trained at Circomedia Circus School in Bristol, England; with master clown Avner Eisenberg and with master mime Tony Montanaro.

Young will be performing at the free stage by the dairy barns as well as strolling the grounds on Aug. 13, 14 and 15 at times to be announced.

Farm show gates will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

General admission for those age 3 and older will be $7 on Monday. The rate will be $8 from Tuesday through Aug. 15.

Admission includes parking, unlimited midway rides except boat rides, all exhibits and entertainment. Grandstand admission is an additional fee per person for special events.

Activities include truck and tractor pulls, a beekeeping demonstration, cheese auction, horse showmanship, animal shows, 4-H livestock sale, log pulling contest, music and food.

The poultry show has been canceled by order of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
