Barbara A. Ebert

Barbara A. Ebert, 88, of Zelienople, formerly of Marshall Township and Mars, died Tuesday morning at New Haven Court in Zelienople.

Born Dec. 28, 1926, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late George and Thelma Slick Arbogast.

Barbara retired in 1987 from UPMC Passavant Hospital, where she was a nurse assistant in the operating room.

She was a former charter member of Wexford United Presbyterian Church and now belonged to Mars United Presbyterian Church, where she had served as an elder and deacon.

Surviving are one daughter, Elizabeth “Liz” Peters and her husband, Robert of Harmony; two sons, George W. Ebert and his wife, Susan of Bensalem, Pa., and John H. Ebert and his wife, Linda of Greenwood, Ind.; her grandchildren, Bethany B. Jaconetty, Lyndsey and Nichole Peters, George W. “Bill” and Michael D. Ebert and Beth Ann Knapp.

She was the great-grandmother of Gavin, Logan and Jack Ebert, Hannah Knapp and soon to be twin great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Ebert Sr., who she married June 21, 1945, and who died Feb. 7, 1989, and by one sister, Kathryn Rexrode.

EBERT — Friends of Barbara A. Ebert, who died Tuesday, June 23, 2015, will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, with the Rev. Nathan Esser, pastor, officiating.
