[naviga:h3]McClellan takes 2nd at West Penn[/naviga:h3]

EXPORT — Rob McClellan finished runner-up at the 111th West Penn Open, which concluded Wednesday at Westmoreland Country Club.

The professional at Butler Country Club, McClellan led after Monday’s first round and was just one stroke back of champion Mike Van Sickle entering Wednesday’s play.

In the third and final round, McClellan managed birdies on holes 1, 9, 11 and 17, but carded a bogey on five holes to finish the event at minus-5 (208), four strokes behind Van Sickle, of McKees Rocks.

Grove City resident Ryan Prokay tied for seventh with three other golfers at plus-1 (214).

[naviga:h3]Herald doubles in professional debut[/naviga:h3]

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Butler High School graduate Cody Herald doubled in his debut with the Frontier League’s Washington Wild Things Wednesday at Consol Energy Park.

Herald, who was signed Tuesday, was serving as the first base coach with the Butler BlueSox.

The Wild Things lost to the Lake Erie Crushers 95.
