Butler man takes on role in 'Capriccio'
PITTSBURGH — Christopher Scott, an opera singer and Butler resident, will be featured as Oliver in Opera Theater of Pittsburgh’s SummerFest production of Richard Strauss’ “Capriccio.”
Scott, a baritone, serves as assistant professor of music at Slippery Rock University where he teaches a voice studio and other music courses.
He recently appeared in several regional productions, including Undercroft Opera’s “Madame Butterfly” and Microscopic Opera’s “Mercy Train.”
He previously appeared as an apprentice with Des Moines Metro Opera where he sang the role of Paris in “Romeo et Juliette.” With the Cincinnati Opera he sang Giuseppe in “La Traviata.”
“Capriccio” begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and July 31, and at 2 p.m. Aug. 2, in the Art Deco Theater at the Twentieth Century Club, 4201 Bigelow Blvd.
