Lawrence E. Fresh

Lawrence E. Fresh, 80, of Kittanning Hollow passed away June 10.

Born Aug. 25, 1934, in Oakmont, Pa., he was the son of Samuel and Anna P. (Yeager) Fresh.

A graduate of East Brady High School, Lawrence worked for Pullman Standard in Butler for 25 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed electrical work.

A U.S. Army veteran, Lawrence was a staff sergeant with the 45th Infantry Division during the Korean War. He was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the National Service Defense Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star.

Lawrence was also a U.S. Navy veteran where he served as a petty officer on the USS Cadmus. He was a lifetime member of the Kittanning VFW.

Lawrence is survived by three daughters, Linda (Donald) Parker of Texas, Judy Brodmerkel (William Lane) of Mt. Pleasant, Pa., and Kelly (Brian) Goodman of Fenelton. He is also survived by his special friend, Virginia Chippero of Butler; her daughter Anita (Dan) Bodenshatz and grandson Kaenan of California; two sisters, June Kamerer and Lorraine Weaver; four granddaughters; and four grandsons.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rose Marie; two sisters; and six brothers.
