BEAVER COUNTY — A two-vehicle crash Monday morning near the Butler/Beaver County line in New Sewickley Township, Beaver County, left one person dead.

A Beaver County woman, whose name has not been released, was traveling north on Glen Eden Road in a Chevrolet Cavalier and went onto the intersection of that road and Route 68. The car was hit on its driver side by a Ford F-250 construction company truck traveling east, sending both vehicles off the road.

The accident occurred just after 11 a.m.

New Sewickley Police Cpl. Timothy Gatehouse said the driver of the Cavalier failed to yield to a stop sign and pulled onto the intersection in front of the truck.

Both vehicles stopped off the side of Route 68 by Brush Creek Road with the front of the Ford on the driver side of the Cavalier.

The 73-year-old driver of the Cavalier was declared dead shortly after emergency personnel arrived.

The truck driver was not injured.
