Police: Father confessed to striking 7-week-old son's head off wall
BUTLER TWP — A township man is facing several charges after his son was taken to Children's Hospital in critical condition last month.
Township police on Tuesday charged Tyler G. Duddy, 25, with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person after a nearly monthlong investigation of an incident on June 20 that occurred at Duddy's apartment along Old Plank Road.
Police said Duddy confessed to striking his 7-week-old son's head off the bedroom wall while he was frustrated and mad.
Duddy's son was hospitalized with a skull fracture and a subdural hematoma, according to the criminal complaint filed against Duddy. The injuries will likely cause some long-term impairment, the complaint said.
Duddy is in Butler County Prison on $75,000 bail.
