Martha Brinda

Martha K. “Marti” Brinda, 96, formerly of Cranberry Township, passed away Wednesday at the Shelbourne Assisted Living Nursing Home.

Born July 5, 1918, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late John Kokosh and Mary Tansen.

Marti was a founding member of the Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church and a member of the Sewickley Presbyterian Church.

She worked as a sales person in the china department at Kaufman’s in the North Hills.

Marti loved flowers and gardening, as well as playing bridge. She was a very social person who enjoyed being around people. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved son, Wayne (Connie) Brinda of Freedom, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marti was preceded in death by her husband, John S. Brinda Jr., who passed away on Sept. 18, 1996, two brothers and six sisters.

BRINDA — The family of Martha K. Brinda, who died Wednesday, June 3, 2015, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.

A funeral ceremony will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Moran officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Allegheny County Memorial Park.
