Harvey W. "Bud" Hulver, Jr.

Harvey W. “Bud” Hulver Jr., 89, of Butler passed away at 5:20 p.m. Monday at Wexford Healthcare Center.

He was born Aug. 17, 1925, in Lexington, Mo., to the late Harvey W. Hulver Sr. and Mildred (Barron) Hulver.

Bud worked on his family farm, at the Frauhauf Trailer Co. in Kansas City, Mo., and during World War II at Pratt Whitney Aircraft Manufacturing in Kansas City. He began working at Westinghouse in Kansas City, Mo., then moved to the Westinghouse Nuclear Division in Cheswick, Pa., in 1961. Bud retired from the Westinghouse Nuclear Pump Division in 1984 as a senior quality control engineer.

He was an innovative handyman, and he built and renovated houses and duplexes for rental and sale.

Bud is survived by two daughters, Tanya R. Hulver of Valencia and Donna Comer and her husband, Larry, of Butler; four sons, Leslie E. Hulver and his wife, Mei, of Sewickley, Barron L. Hulver and his wife, Julie, of Westlake, Ohio, Larry D. Hulver and his wife, Ann, of Loudonville, Ohio, and Randy W. Hulver of Butler; his very dear friend and “nurse” Magda Kusiew of Kittanning; one brother, Wally Hulver and his wife, Billie, of Lexington, Mo.; one sister, Beverly Moss of Miami, Okla.; a special niece, Debbie Creel of Flora, Miss.; grandchildren Tina (Michael), Pat, Bill, Lisa, Jessica, Amanda, Jian, Kylie, Scott, Lynn, Jay, Amber, Kaitlyn, Sydney, Ainslee and Memphis; great-grandchildren Stephanie, Zac, Breanna, Ben, Mitchell and Lily; great-great-grandchildren William, Jeremy and Logan; and nieces and nephews Carol Ann, Sandy, Bill, Greg and Jamie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Louise (Rowland) Hulver, who he married Dec. 31, 1946, and who passed away Jan. 12, 2000; one son, Harvey W. Hulver III; one sister, Mildred Burns; son-in-law Vic Martinelli Jr.; niece Patsy Eakin; and nephew Don Holder.

HULVER — Friends of Harvey W.”Bud” Hulver Jr., who died Monday, June 1, 2015, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will immediately follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with his son, Larry Hulver, officiating.
