Kane's twin sister sued by ex-boyfriend over loan

HARRISBURG — The twin sister of state Attorney General Kathleen Kane is being sued over a $200,000 loan by an FBI agent who was her boyfriend.

Kane’s twin, Ellen Granahan, was sued in Lackawanna County Court last month by Jacob Wentland III, of Dunmore.

Granahan has worked as a state prosecutor since 2008. After Kane was sworn in as attorney general in 2013, Granahan was promoted to chief deputy attorney general of the office’s child predator section.

Wentland says in his lawsuit he loaned Granahan the money in 2012 so she could buy a home. The suit says he moved out for good in 2014 after their relationship soured and she has not repaid the loan.

Wentland, who was assigned to the FBI’s Houston office when he began dating Granahan in 2009, accepted two transfers with the intention of marrying her, according to the suit.
