Mary Ellen Ifft
Mary Ellen (Houser) Ifft passed away Wednesday.
She was born in 1916 in Mountaintop, Pa. She went to beautician school in Pittsburgh, then owned and operated her own beauty shop in Zelienople.
She married Ralph Ifft in 1942, and they were together for more than 50 years while residing in Butler. They raised two children, Susan (Ifft) Christie of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Thomas Ifft of Lancaster, S.C.
Mary Ellen spent her last years living with her daughter, Susan and son-in-law, Ralph Christie in Colorado.
Mary Ellen was passionate about animals and her many pets and enjoyed oil painting, bridge club, extensive traveling and being with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and two sisters.
