Kenneth Earl Pate, 58, of Chicora passed away suddenly on Monday.

He was born Oct. 25, 1956, in Butler to the late Ernest “Ernie” W. Pate Sr. and Martha “Fran” (Teachey) Pate.

Ken was an avid fisherman, who was well known locally for his bass fishing. He also enjoyed playing poker.

He was in the Carpenters Union, Local 922. He was a member of the Moose, American Legion, Freemasons and the Butler Basscasters Fishing Club.

Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Cynthia (Iams) Pate; three daughters, Heather Pate, Danielle Pate and Brittany Pate; two brothers, Ernest W. (Betty) Pate Jr. and Ron Pate and his fiance, Heather Plyler; two nieces, Jennifer (Chris) Tuft and Macie Pate; and a nephew, Braden Pate.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

PATE — Friends of Kenneth Earl Pate, who died Monday, May 18, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W.
