William Molnar

William Molnar - OBIT - 5/19/15

William Joseph Molnar, 87, of Valencia, Adams Township, passed away Sunday morning at the Community Living Center of the VA Butler Healthcare medical center.

Born in Reeseville, W.Va. on June 3, 1927, he was the son of the late Bert and Julia Sabo Molnar.

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Bill was employed by the State Board of Public Assistance, Frick and Lindsay and Anchor Packing Company.

He had served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving overseas with the Occupational Forces in the European Theater, enlisting on Aug. 17, 1945, until his discharge of Feb. 28, 1947.

Bill was an active member of the Valencia Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an elder and a trustee. He also was a team manager for Mars Little League and was an avid woodworker.

Surviving are his wife of nearly 65 years, Marie Sahli Molnar; two sons, William J. Molnar and his wife, Deborah Molloy Molnar, of Southport, N.C., and the Rev. Dennis W. Molnar and his wife, Terri Wallace Molnar, of Greentree; one daughter, Nancy J. Raymond and her husband Frank of Glenview, Ill.; his grandchildren, Daniel, Elizabeth Kulhanek and Christian Molnar, Jason Molnar, Kelly Erdos, Kim Stewart, Renee and Philip Molnar and Anna Marie and Julie Raymond Strand; his great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Bryce, Braylan, MacKenzie, Kinley, Teegan, Preston and Troy; one brother, Alex Molnar of Hilton Head, S.C.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, John S., Albert B., Gabert D. and Robert E. Molnar; three sisters, Edith Breakiron, Helen Nemes and Bertha Davis; and two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Taylor.

MOLNAR — Friends of William Joseph Molnar, who died Sunday, May, 17, 2015, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia.The Rev. Dennis Molnar, his son, will officiate.
