Ryan O’Connor’s base hit in the bottom of the seventh inning scored Andy Fritz to lift Saxonburg to a 2-1 victory over the Mars Sliders in Eagle County League baseball play Friday at Butler County Community College.

The game had been knotted at 1-all since both teams scored a run in the second frame.

Sean O’Donnell pitched a complete game with two strikeouts and a walk to pick up the win for Saxonburg (7-5).

Bobby Swartwout doubled for the victors.

Freeport also won in walk-off fashion, receiving a one-out sacrifice fly off the bat of Jeff Campbell in the bottom of the eighth inning to topple Cranberry Township 3-2 at Swartz Field.

Troy Nemeth scored the decisive run.
