Karen (Schulte) “Kay” Mitchell, 77, of Zelienople passed away May 13.

Born Jan. 26, 1938, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Helen (Berry) Schulte.

Kay was a longtime member of Westminster U.P. Church in Evans City. During her free time, she enjoyed quilting and baking homemade cookies. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her four children, Karen (James) Spurk of Portersville, Daniel Mitchell of Butler, Robert D. Mitchell III of Butler and Elmer (Jessica) Mitchell of Karns City; her brother, John (Dottie) Schulte of Cranberry Township; two sisters, Sally (Lester) Powers of Gibsonia and Audrey Franz of Florida; five grandchildren, Beth (Jeff) Crowley, Molly (Greg) DiFiore, Jimmy Spurk, Jacob Spurk and Caleb Mitchell; and three great-grandchildren, Maya Grace, Jon and Liam Crowley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Robert D. “Bob” Mitchell Jr., and two sisters, Ruth Conn and Mary Lou Glenz.

MITCHELL — A memorial service for Karen (Schulte) “Kay” Mitchell, who died Wednesday, May 13, 2015, will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Westminster U.P. Church, 330 E. Main St., Evans City, PA 16033, with the Rev. Tom Harmon officiating.Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the Westminster Quilters, 330 E.
