Robert C. Giunta, 78, of Butler passed away at 10:10 p.m. on Thursday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

He was born Feb. 12, 1937, in Olean, N.Y., to the late Charles Giunta and Lillian (Bello) Giunta.

Mr. Giunta was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as an assistant manager of operation at Pullman Standard, then went to work for Bronder Technical as a safety manager, retiring in 2012. Mr. Giunta was a member of the VFW Post 249, former member of the Butler Elks Lodge 170 and was on the Butler Hall of Fame Board.

Mr. Giunta is survived by one brother, Michael T. Giunta of Fishers, Ind., and a number of cousins.
