Dorothy Faye Wetzel Wile Alworth

Dorothy Faye Wetzel Wile Alworth, 83, of Parker passed away Thursday at the Golden Living Nursing Home in Shippenville.

Born in Clarion County on March 24, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Carrie Faye Wetzel.

Dorothy was employed at the former Knox Glass Container Corp. in Knox, Pa., for a number of years.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in West Freedom in which she sang in the choir. She loved gardening, was an excellent canner and very skilled at making all sorts of crafts. She loved her church, her family and very much enjoyed making dinners for them. Dorothy was very proud of her community service and spent countless hours volunteering at the fire hall in Perry Township.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra (Chuck) Hartman of Eau Claire and Pamela (Craig) Brinker of Sligo; two sons, Barry (Jane) Wile of Erie and Roger (Dora) of North Fort Myers, Fla.; one stepson, James (Terri) Alworth of Parker; two sisters, Betty Helsel and Shirley Dittman Kemmer; one brother, Judd Wetzel; and numerous grandchildren, step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald Ardell Wile, who passed in 1979. She later was married to Robert Andrew Alworth, who passed away in January of this year; one daughter, Beth Wile; one sister; three brothers and twins who died at birth.

WETZEL — Friends of Dorothy Faye Wetzel Wile Alworth, who died Thursday, May 14, 2015, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Wayne Ave. in Parker and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church of West Freedom near Parker.Funeral service will immediately follow Monday's visitation.Services will be conducted by the Rev.
