Marian Chisholm
Marian Louise Chisholm, 97, of Hermitage, formerly of White Avenue in Sharon, passed away peacefully at 4:30 a.m. May 2 at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Butler.
Marian was born in Sharon on Jan. 13, 1918, the daughter of the late Jesse E. and Martha E. (Randall) Fleming.
She was a 1936 graduate of Sharon High School. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Hermitage, where she had been a deaconess and a member of the New Covenant Sunday school class.
Marian had worked as a secretary at the former Howell Industries in Masury, Ohio. She also had worked for many years at the Sharon Medical Clinic, and before her marriage, she had worked at the former Bell Telephone.
After her retirement, Marian had been a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, at the Sharon Regional Hospital Auxiliary and the former Penn-Ohio Contact Group. She enjoyed playing cards and socializing with friends.
She was the widow of LeRoy W. Chisholm, who she married on Aug. 31, 1940. He died Dec. 8, 2002.
She is survived by her daughter, Liane Chisholm of Butler; her cousin, Mary Sue McKnight of Grove City; and nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four infant sons; her sister, Margaret McCarty; and her brother, Charles McCarty.
CHISHOLM — Donations in memory of Marian Louise Chisholm, who died Saturday, May 2, 2015, may be made to the Central Christian Church, 218 Meadowbrook Road, Hermitage, PA 16148.At her request there will be no calling hours.A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at the Central Christian Church, Hermitage, with the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Moore officiating. Inurnment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Hermitage.Funeral arrangements were handled by the Harold W. Stevenson Funeral Home, 264 E.
