Margaret Carbone

Margaret Elizabeth Carbone departed this life Monday at her home in Stockton, Md., surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Dec. 27, 1921, to Elizabeth (Prokop) and Paul Kovach in Deegan, Pa., and she spent her formative years in Butler (Lyndora).

She met and married the love of her life, Frank “Hank” Carbone, and moved to New Castle, Pa., where she lived until October 2002, when she moved to Stockton, Md., to be near her daughters. She was a loving, devoted wife and mother.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hank, who passed away Feb. 9, 1987; her sisters, Irene Biffaretti and Elizabeth “Ashie” Steen, and her brothers, Paul Kovach Jr. and Andrew Kovach.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Lucille (Scott) Salmon, Stockton, Md., and Francine (C. Scott) McCullion, Bishopville, Md.; granddaughters, Allison (Kirk) Opicka, Waldorf, Md., and Andrea (Ray Hall) Craig, King George, Va.; two handsome great-grandsons, Hayden Hall and Tristan Hall, King George, Va.; a sister, Ann McCall; a brother, Peter Kovach; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was a compassionate and loving woman who enriched the lives of all who knew her. She was a strong and kind woman, appreciative and generous, and God rewarded her with a healthy life almost to the very end. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her.

CARBONE — A memorial service for Margaret Elizabeth Carbone, who died Monday, May 4, 2015, will be at 11 a.m. June 6 at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 5543 Stockton Rd., Stockton, Md.Interment will be later at Castleview Memorial Gardens in New Castle, Pa.
