VA schedules PTSD sessions

VA Butler Healthcare, 325 New Castle Road, will provide two opportunities in June for veterans and their family members to learn more, connect and share information during Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month.

PTSD is a normal reaction to a traumatic or life-threatening experience, such as combat exposure.

From 5 to 7 p.m. June 17 in Room 403C, VA Butler Healthcare will offer “Helping a Family Member Who Has PTSD — Information Session.” Family and friends can learn about PTSD, find out about treatment and get information on how to help a veteran they care about. The session is free.

VA Butler Healthcare also will host “PTSD Awareness Day” from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 25 in the primary care waiting area. Information will be available. Behavioral health staff will answer questions from veterans, family, volunteers and staff.

For more information about the events, call 724-282-5603 or 724-285-2501.
