BHS Class of ’56 planning reunionThe Butler High School Class of 1956 will hold a planning meeting at noon Wednesday at Mac’s Route 8 Café, 16 Pittsburgh Road, for the 60th class reunion. The reunion will be July 23, 2016.To help or for more information, attend the meeting or contact Carol Ball.
Program on elder abuse slatedA free community event for elder abuse awareness will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 17 at Founders Hall on the Butler County Community College campus, 107 College Drive.The program will have educational seminars and presentations from Butler County Elder Abuse Task Force, AARP, Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities and other groups.Butler County Area Agency on Aging, Victim Outreach Intervention Center and the Link to Aging and Disability Resources will host the event.Register by Wednesday by calling Monica at 724-431-3619 or send an e-mail to register @anrinfo.org. Camp Apple taking applicationsCommunity Care Connections is accepting registrations for its Camp Apple summer day camp for children with disabilities.Children ages six to 18 who have physical and/or intellectual disabilities can enjoy the experience of camp during June, July and August.All activities are structured according to the child’s ability level.Camp sessions are 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
