Few county offices available because of power switch
The public still can do business today at several Butler County government offices that have set up make-shift desks on the first floor of the county Government Center.
But the rest of the building, as well as the courthouse, are closed to the public until Monday.
Officials shut down the electricity in both buildings at noon so that the new government center annex building, which is under construction next door, can be hooked up to electrical service.
The offices that still can be accessed are the prothonotary, the clerk of courts, the register of wills and the recorder of deeds.
Also, a representative from court administration is available to accept domestic relations filings.
