Raymond L. Power

Raymond L. Power

Raymond L. Power, 79, of Gibsonia passed away peacefully Sunday.

He was born March 4, 1936, to the late Leo and Mary Anne (Schmidt) Power.

He was the devoted husband of Lillian (McGurgan) for 56 years and a loving and beloved father of Mary Ann Muska (Gary), Donna L. Power, Mark R. Power (Mark T. Phillis) and Allison P. Bajuszik (James).

He also is survived by six grandchildren, Kevin (Whitney) Muska, Scott Muska, Ryan Muska, Holly Muska, Jason Bajuszik and Adam Bajuszik, and one great-grandchild, Adeline Muska.

A longtime businessman in Mars, Ray purchased the former A&P Food Store, opening the Super Dollar supermarket — later IGA and Foodland, now Shop 'n Save — in December 1973. Active with Mars Kiwanis since opening his business and as past president, Ray was a stalwart supporter and champion of the Mars community in countless, unheralded ways. Aware that one can never get rich in a small town because there are too many eyes watching, Ray's life was among the richest and enriched by the love, respect, and admiration of his family, friends, other local business owners, fellow supermarket operators and 41-plus years of customers for whom Ray always shared a friendly greeting.
