Cranberry's Bondo makes amateur cut

LATROBE — Cranberry Township resident Ross Bondo fired a two-over-par 74 (34-40) at Latrobe Elks Golf Club Thursday in the qualifying round for the upcoming West Penn Amateur Championship.

The effort tied Bondo for ninth place with five other golfers and advances him to the 115th West Penn Amateur, scheduled June 8-9 at St. Clair Country Club.

The Seneca Valley boys volleyball team will face defending state champion Central York in a PIAA Class AAA quarterfinal playoff at 5 p.m. Saturday at Altoona Area High School.
