Dorothy Leone Fox, 90, of Winfield Township went on her heavenly journey to meet her savior Jesus on Wednesday.

She passed away at Concordia Personal Care after being cared for by the Good Samaritan Hospice and a long struggle with cancer.

The daughter of the late Raymond and Mildred (Himes) Gahagen, she was born on Dec. 3, 1924, in Porter Township, Jefferson County. She was a graduate of Winfield Township High School.

In her early years, she worked at the Butler County Mushroom Farm as a mushroom picker. After marrying her second husband, Bernard Fox, she became a devoted homemaker and farm wife.

She enjoyed working in the garden, canning and freezing home grown produce, mowing the lawn and always maintaining a spotless home.

She was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, active in the Berean Sunday School class, Bible studies and a member of many church administrative committees. Up to her final days she was always in great spirits and praising God for her many blessings.

Dorothy raised two stepchildren of her first deceased husband, Judy Taylor Cihonski and Charles Thomas Taylor, both dying at the age of 56.

Dorothy is survived by three step-grandchildren, Gregory Freehling, Amy Freehling and Charles Taylor; eight step-great-grandsons, Stephen, John and Andrew Freehling, Brison and Matthew Freehling, Joshua Giesler and Zachary and Jonathan Taylor.

Also she is survived by four great great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Surviving are her devoted husband, Bernard Fox; her sister, Geraldine Doerr; and her loving twin sister, Doris McCall.

FOX — Friends of Dorothy Leone Fox, who died on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert H. Wilson officiating. Everyone please meet at the church.
