Mary Fizer
Mary Stasko Fizer, 96, of Lyndora passed away Tuesday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler.
Born July 27, 1918, in Lyndora, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Russin) Stasko.
She was a homemaker and worked at the Armco Steel plant food service in Butler for several years. She worked for the Board of Elections at the Lyndora Fire Hall as a clerk and judge of elections. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora and was a founding member of the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and knitting.
She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Book of Butler; one son, Michael F. (Carol) Fizer of Lyndora; three grandsons, Col. Ronald (Rene) Fizer of Springfield, Va., James A. Fizer of Peru, Ind., and Scott (Becky) Fizer of Butler; three great-granddaughters, Angie, Ashley and Chelsea; and one great-grandson, Kevin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Fizer, who she married Feb. 18, 1939, and who passed away Nov. 29, 2004; two brothers, Paul and Michael Stasko; and a sister, Anna Suchy.
FIZER — There will be no public visitation for Mary Fizer, who died Tuesday, April 14, 2015.Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora. The Rev. Leo Schlosser will be officiating.
