A Butler man who wielded a handgun in the city late Sunday night was in the county prison this morning after city police arrested him after chasing him down on foot.

Police charged Nathan D. Cornetti, 23, with multiple crimes after they caught up with him in the Main Street area.

At one point, the suspect allegedly pointed his weapon, a pellet gun, at police, who also had pulled their service handguns.

The suspect dropped his gun during the chase which ended with Cornetti’s arrest.
