Richard G. Noullet
Richard G. Noullet, 92, formerly of Butler, passed away early Sunday morning in the comfort of the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and William Scott, surrounded by his family.
Born Oct. 16, 1922, in Butler, he was a son of the late Charles J. Noullet and Margaret (Hinterlang) Noullet.
He married Sarah “Evelyn” Forcht June 10, 1942.
A veteran of World War II, he served as a radio mechanic and staff sergeant in the Aleutian Islands with the U.S. Army Air Corps.
Richard was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. He shared this love with his family, who he referred to as his most cherished gift. He also liked to tinker and built a banjo and two carousels.
He retired from Armco, where he worked in the technical services department as an electronic technician. After retirement, he spent the years traveling, enjoying his family and playing a little golf.
Upon his wife's passing, he knew he had a calling and devoted himself to the promotion of Divine Mercy Sunday and the Chaplet among the areas Catholic churches and made many new friends. He was a staunch believer in the redemptive powers of Divine Mercy Sunday, the Chaplet, and the mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior. He received last rites and later died around 3 a.m. on Divine Mercy Sunday.
Surviving are his children, Richard Leroy (Sonja) Noullet of Irwin, Fredrick B. (Graci) Noullet of Williamstown, John Noullet of Mars, Patricia (William) Scott of Chicora and Jeffery (Barb) Noullet of Petrolia; a number of grandchildren and great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah “Evelyn” Noullet, who died Sept. 16, 2008; one son, Glenn E. Noullet; two sisters; and two brothers.
NOULLET — Friends of Richard G. Noullet who died Sunday, April 12, 2015 will be received at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, 409 N. Main St., Chicora. The Rev. Rick Thompson, pastor, will officiate.Inurnment will be in Butler County Memorial Park.
