Carolyn Fleming
Carolyn Ankeny Fleming, 98, of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, formerly of Buffalo Township, passed away April 8 at Concordia.
She was born Sept. 10, 1916, in Freeport to the late Solomon Ira and Carrie (Sutton) Ankeny. She was a lifelong resident of the Freeport-Sarver area.
Mrs. Fleming worked at the former Schenley Distillery, Gilpin Township, and at Allegheny Ludlum, Brackenridge.
Carolyn was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Freeport and was a very avid historian and enjoyed volunteering.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. “Bub” Fleming on Dec. 31, 1997; her seven brothers, Carroll, Felder, Ira, Calvin, Eugene, Merle and Clair; and her two sisters, Grace Cunningham and Irene Rusnock
