Helen G. Beckett, 88, of Kittanning passed away Wednesday at the Country Manor Personal Care Home.
She was born Aug. 22, 1926, to the late Washington Slagle and Hannah (Hooks) Slagle-Bowser.
She was a member of the Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church. She liked canning, baking, gardening and working on the family dairy farm.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Bernie) Craig of Kittanning; three grandchildren, Shelley (Heather) Sacik of New Castle, John Scott (Joni Wolfe) Sacik of New Castle and Jeffrey (Karina) Sacik of Johnstown; three great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; her brother, Glenn Bowser of Adrian; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Grafton of Kittanning and Dorothy Grafton of Kittanning; one brother-in-law, Jay Beckett of Applewold; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Floyd Beckett; her brother, Paul Bowser; her sister, Jean Sacik; her sisters-in-law, Stella Bowser, Clara Dee Beckett and Sara Grafton; and her brothers-in-law, Leroy Grafton, Warren Grafton and Chalmer Grafton.
BECKETT — Friends of Helen G. Beckett, who died Wednesday, April 8, 2015, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington.Additional viewing will be from 1 p.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church with the Rev.
