William A. 'Bill' Kidd
William A. “Bill” Kidd, 70, passed away March 29, 2015, in San Antonio, Texas.
He was born April 27, 1944. He grew up in Butler where he graduated from high school. He later earned engineering degrees from Grove City College and Arizona State University.
He proudly served 22 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a lieutenant colonel before completing a second career with Texas Instruments.
Bill was truly one-of-a-kind. He had a positive impact on everyone who had the good fortune to be in his company.
Bill loved his family and was very active in the lives of his children and grandchildren, even as they spread out among several states. He worked tirelessly in support of his children's endeavors and always had time to dote on his grandchildren. His neighbors knew he would share his tools and talents with anyone who asked for help.
Bill gave far more than he received and that was just fine with him. He will live forever in the memories of all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, the former Katherine Yuengert; their sons, Keith, Kevin, Kris and Kurt; and his grandchildren, Amanda, Trevor, Erin, Evie, Emily and Elliott. He also is survived by his father, Harry V. Kidd Jr.; his brother, Francis; and his sisters, Loretta Donaldson and Jane Rak.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Anna (Lehnerd) Kidd.
KIDD — The family of William A. “Bill” Kidd, 70, who passed away March 29, 2015, will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at PORTER LORING MORTUARY NORTH, 2101 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio.A service will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Porter Loring North Chapel. Interment with full military honors will follow in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.In life, Bill supported the efforts of breast cancer research.
