William N. Detisch, 84, of Somerset passed Monday at home.

Born Dec. 5, 1930, in Venango County, he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (McCamey) Detisch. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret, Anna Mae, Dolores, Helen and Naomi.

Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Christeen (Lanning) Detisch; his daughter, Jan Smith and her husband, Steven, of Leesburg, Va.; his grandchildren, Amy Voorhis and her husband, Cris, of Ashburn, Va., and Maggie Smith of Morgantown, W.Va.; and his sister, Violet Norris of Grove City.

Bill was a 1949 graduate of Harrisville High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War and then began a long career as an employee of Cooper Industries in Grove City. He enjoyed golfing with his friends and woodworking and was also an avid reader.
