Superhero exhibit coming to library

CRANBERRY TWP — Comic-tanium: The Super Materials of the Superheroes will be on display from Wednesday to July 11 at the Cranberry Public Library, 2525 Rochester Road.

The exhibit reveals how Batman, Iron Man, Wonder Woman and other comic characters use minerals, metals and materials science and engineering to boost their powers and save their worlds.

The exhibit is a partnership with the Minerals, Metals and Materials Society and its foundation to inspire students for science and engineering careers.

Alameda Gators hold registration

The Alameda Gators Swim Team will have registration for swimmers ages 6 to 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department office, 184 Alameda Park Road.

Club schedules rummage sale

SAXONBURG — The Saxonburg Woman’s Club will have its annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and May 9 at the VFW post, 572 W. Main St.

May Market includes book sale

SAXONBURG — A used book sale, bake sale and raffle will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 9 in the South Butler Community Library parking lot, 240 W. Main St., during Saxonburg’s May Market.

The library will accept used books any day the library is open.

Church will host annual car cruise

RIMERSBURG, Clarion County — Rimersburg United Methodist Church, 339 Main St., will host its 5th annual car cruise from 3 to 6 p.m. May 9, rain or shine, in the parking lot behind the church.

Take a lawn chair. The event will include food served from 3 to 5 p.m. and music. Donations will support the local mission“My Brother’s Keeper.”

Spring Valley Park plans open house

SAXONBURG — Spring Valley Park, 220 Victory Road, will have an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 9.

The event will showcase the playground, pavilion, walking and hiking trail and new restrooms. The Kiski Astronomers also will demonstrate telescopes.
