Shirley Magill

Shirley (Willis) Magill, 89, of Zelienople passed away Thursday at Parker Personal Care Home in Parker.

Born Sept. 14, 1925, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Olive (Garmen) Willis.

Shirley graduated from Zelienople High School in 1943. She worked as a staff writer for the Butler County News Record and was a copy editor for the Valley News Dispatch.

She was a longtime member of St. Peter's Reformed Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and superintendent for nine years. She was also a member of the Historic Harmony Society and the Riverside Community Education Foundation. She enjoyed being the 4-H Leader for Marion Township for nine years as well as being a tutor at Riverside High School. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Glenn (Cynthia) Magill of Butler and Douglas (Cheryl) Magill of Portersville; her grandchildren, Ethan (Arin) Magill, Devin (Tara) Magill, Julie (Jason) Wagner, Joel Magill and Kyle Magill; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy W. Magill, who died on Jan. 7, 1996.

MAGILL — The family of Shirley (Willis) Magill, who died Thursday, March 26, 2015, will welcome friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from noon until the time of funeral services at 1 p.m. with the Rev. James Bertoti officiating at the Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Shirley will be privately laid to rest at the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park in Rochester.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Shirley's family at www.glennkildoofuneralhome.com
