Paul William Lindey

Paul William Lindey of Brady Township, Slippery Rock, went to his Heavenly home at 12:55 a.m. Thursday. Now he is having a great day, meeting with his loved ones who have gone on before.

He farmed until 1999 with beef cattle and laying hens as the main projects. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

Paul was born on July 23, 1933, to the late Harry S. Lindey and Myrtle H. Long Lindey at the family home in Brady Township. He was one of five children.

He married Ruby Rae Ripley on June 7, 1957. They had a wonderful marriage of almost 58 years.

He was a road supervisor for six years in Brady Township.

He was a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church and had attended different Baptist churches, where he had been a deacon, trustee and Sunday school teacher for more than 26 years. He enjoyed traveling and the outdoors, especially hunting.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Ruby, at home; his two daughters, Cindy R. Lindey of Brady Township and Polly A. Lindey of Greenville; his son, Jeffrey P. Lindey and his wife, Robin, of Brady Township; his three grandchildren, Ashley, Eric and Hannah Lindey, all of Brady Township; his brother, Bob Lindey of West Liberty; his father-in-law, Harry D. Ripley Jr. and his wife, Grace; his sisters-in-law; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sister; his two brothers, Harry and Richard “Dick” Lindey; and his brother-in-law, Daniel Ripley.

Lindey— The family of Paul William Lindey, who passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015, will receive friends from 1 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Loren McQueen of the West Liberty United Methodist Church and the Rev. Willard Morse, retired Methodist pastor, presiding. Interment will be Slippery Rock Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Research Center, 640 Jackson St., St. Paul, MN 55101.
