Maryann H. Nodge, 85, of Butler passed away Thursday evening at the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 20, 1930, in Lyndora, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Grystar) Gombos.

Maryann was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church and had faithfully watched Mass on TV every morning. She worked in the dry cleaning business for more than 40 years, working at Ideal Cleaners, Cicco's and Hutchinson's Dry Cleaners. She bowled in several bowling leagues in Butler and was an avid flower gardener and birdwatcher.

She was the beloved wife of the late George E. Nodge, who passed away Jan. 15, 2014.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory one sister, Helen Russo of Lyndora; her nieces, Kathleen (Jon) Bard of Butler, who she lovingly referred to as her “private duty nurse,” and Teresa Cypher of Apex, N.C.; also other nieces, nephews and cousins.

NODGE — Friends of Maryann H. Nodge, who died Thursday, March 19, 2015, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.Entombment will follow in the mausoleum of Calvary Cemetery, Butler.St. Paul's Catholic women and Christian mothers will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church to recite the rosary.Her family requests that donations be made to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053, or go to phipps.conservatory.org.
