Stephen Jursa

Stephen J.D. Jursa, 87, of Clinton Township passed away Saturday at the Good Samaritan Hospice of Concordia, Jefferson Township.

He was born on July 2, 1927, in Springdale to the late Stephen and Mary Hloznik Jursa.

He graduated from Springdale High School in 1946, and following graduation, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a member of the American Legion, Lower Burrell, and a life member of the Springdale VFW Post 1437.

Steve worked for PPG Research for more than 34 years as a supervisor.

He met his wife, Marilyn “Dovey” Lewetag, 53 years ago when he moved to Clinton Township.

He was a devout Catholic and a member of the St. Victor Roman Catholic Church, Bairdford. He also bowled in the PPG League in Lower Burrell and enjoyed spending time at his cottage in Pymatuning. After retirement, he enjoyed golfing and tinkering on projects around the house. He loved taking pictures and always had a good joke to tell.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn “Dovey” Jursa, and his stepchildren, Diane (Dennis) Hinderliter of Winfield Township and Robert Lewetag of Clinton Township. He also leaves behind his five grandchildren, Melissa and Eric Lewetag and Cavan, Cullen and Calla Hinderliter; his two sisters, Joan Meleski of Springdale and Dolores (John) Domitrovic of Millvale; his many nieces and nephews, and his cat, Oreo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Anna Pastorik, Mary Heban and Margarete Corsi.

Jursa — At the family's request, the viewing, blessing service and burial for Stephen J.D.
