The 70th anniversaries of the World War II Victory in Europe day and Victory in Japan day are coming up and we’d like to hear from Butler County residents about their experience of those events.

Quilting party deadline nears
Friday is the deadline to make a reservation for the Butler After Five Women’s Connection Quilting Party.
Doors will open at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday at the Fieldhouse Restaurant, 911 N. Pike Road.
Lisa Haley will present “How to Stay Afloat When Life Capsizes You,” and there will be a gift of quilts.

Healthy Kids Day coming to YMCA
The Butler YMCA, 339 N. Washington St., will have Healthy Kids Day from 3:30 to 6 p.m. April 24.
There will be family fun and entertainment, as well as exhibits by organizations promoting health and safety education for children and families.

‘Trunk to Treasure’ sale scheduled
SAXONBURG — Clinton Church, 197 Glade Mill Road, will have a “Trunk to Treasure” sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 25 at the church.
There will be a bake sale and refreshments available.

Flea market planned at church
GIBSONIA — Bakerstown United Methodist Church, 5760 William Flinn Highway, will have a flea market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 25 at the church.

Communication session slated
Amy Lavorini, an employee of Butler County Children’s Center, will present a free session, “How to Talk So Kids Will Listen and Listen So Kids Will Talk,” based on the book by the same name.
Sessions run from 6 to 8 p.m. April 15, 22 and 29 at the center’s Bon Aire location, 131 Homewood Drive.
