3 Butler Y swimmers reach finals at nationals
The Butler YMCA swim team placed 19th overall at the YMCA National Championships last week in Greensboro, N.C.
Three swimmers reached the national finals in a combined six events and 11 team records were broken.
Chadd Cummings placed sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2 minutes, 2.65 seconds. He was seventh in the 100 breast in 56.11 seconds and 17th in the 200 individual medley in 1:52.94.
Cummings’ medley time snapped the team record of 1:53.55, set by Eric Namesnik in March of 1987.
Camryn Forbes placed seventh in the 200 backstroke in 1:58.89, fifth in the 100 back in 56.60 seconds. Brooke Zukowski was 24th in the 200 breast in 2:23.14.
