3 Butler Y swimmers reach finals at nationals

The Butler YMCA swim team placed 19th overall at the YMCA National Championships last week in Greensboro, N.C.

Three swimmers reached the national finals in a combined six events and 11 team records were broken.

Chadd Cummings placed sixth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2 minutes, 2.65 seconds. He was seventh in the 100 breast in 56.11 seconds and 17th in the 200 individual medley in 1:52.94.

Cummings’ medley time snapped the team record of 1:53.55, set by Eric Namesnik in March of 1987.

Camryn Forbes placed seventh in the 200 backstroke in 1:58.89, fifth in the 100 back in 56.60 seconds. Brooke Zukowski was 24th in the 200 breast in 2:23.14.

Age 15-18 Boys

Chadd Cummings: 200 breast in 2:02.65, 100 breast in 56.05, 200 IM in 1:52.94

15-18 Girls

Camryn Forbes: 100 back in 56.60

13-14 Girls

Laura Goettler: 200 breast in 2:25.13, 100 breast in 1:08.19

Brooke Zukowski: 200 breast in 2:21.68, 100 breast in 1:05.56

Relays

400 medley relay: Camryn Forbes, Brooke Zukowski, Emma Weiss and Abby Jones in 3:58.33

800 free relay: Camryn Forbes, Laura Goettler, Brooke Zukowski, Abby Jones 7:50.68
