A 12-year-old girl on Monday confessed to making a bomb threat to the Knoch Middle School/High School campus over the weekend, state police said.

The student made the threat on the photo social media app Instagram using an anonymous account, implying there was a bomb at the school complex on Dinnerbell Road, said Josh Anderson of the state police in

Butler.

According to the district website, school police, in conjunction with

state and local law enforcement, investigated the claims. They

determined the information posted was baseless.

Classes were held Monday and Tuesday because nothing was found during a search of the complex.
